I'm playing some catch-up with the next few posts...
(MAJOR CATCH UP now!)
Spring term ended in the middle of June- and boy was I ready for a break! :) Jordy has been so good - considering he's been in a "school routine" since he was about 3 weeks old.
I can't thank Ben enough for still being willing to watch Jordy during the spring/summer as I took classes and worked with clients. Jordy loves his Uncle Ben! :)
He's a natural! :)
Ben was even willing to watch Jordy when Jordy was sick. One day I came to pick Jordy up and Jordy had leaked, but apparently I hadn't changed the spare clothes for awhile in the diaper bag- the clothes no longer fit...so Ben got creative! :)
The Thursday I finished my last final we celebrated by going to the Pleasant Grove Strawberry Days Rodeo!

They have the yummiest strawberries and cream...we always look forward to eating ours- just look at how excited someone else was too!
They had fireworks at the end of the Rodeo- we weren't sure how Jordy would do with loud fireworks- but he seemed to like them! :)
I was able to play on a soccer team (for 3 games- because they were desperate to fill the team in order to not forfeit :) Jordy was a good "cheerleader" - though some wanted him to be our ball!
Speaking of soccer- we were super excited for the World Cup to start in Brasil! Jordy's shirt is still a little big, but he was excited to cheer on Brasil as they played their opening game.
*Because I'm writing this after-the-fact, I can say we were sad how Brasil got dominated- but it was fun to see some good games during the World Cup. Hopefully Brasil will have more luck during the Olympics! :)
We went to the nearby Farmer's Market one Saturday in June and bought a cucumber plant, a tomato plant (yes, we're still trying to prove we can grow something! :) and then enjoyed walking around looking at the little crafts and things to eat. We decided to try out this pizza van...they cooked their "gourmet" pizzas in a wood stove in a glass box on wheels...it ended up being pretty yummy!
Poor Jordy-- he really wanted some of it!
My great friend, Rachel Bronson and her family got to visit us during their trip from Oregon. We loved having dinner with them and seeing her adorable boys. We wish they lived closer and can't wait to see them again!

Grandpa Hyatt was also able to visit for a day (after driving for 23+ hours from Wisconsin) before he had to leave for a business trip. We were excited to get to see him, even if it was a quick visit!

On the way up to Idaho the last weekend in June we stopped in Ogden to meet up with my cello teacher from Appleton, Linda Calhan. It was fun getting to catch up with her!
We picked Eric up from the airport on Thursday evening (he flew in for the wedding from Ireland) and then met Tyler's sister Jenny and his parents (and Cindy!) at their hotel in Bountiful. We went swimming for a little bit and then went to bed to be ready for the big day! It was wonderful to be with Tyler in the temple with all of his siblings-- we definitely are grateful for eternal families!

We decided he didn't need to stay in his shirt and tie at the luncheon-so we just put him in the vest that came with his shirt and pants... MR. COOL!
Again, so so tired after such a long, hot day...he wasn't the only one tuckered out! (His cousin, Parker)

We stayed in the hotel Friday night and went swimming on Friday and Saturday. Jordy seemed to enjoy the pool water even though it wasn't quite as warm as his bath water. He had fun playing with all his cousins in the water and watching them splash around trying to dunk Tyler! :)
But he also fell asleep pretty quick when we got out!
Saturday afternoon we went to a park with Tyler's family and had a little picnic. We took Jordy down the slide a few times...we couldn't tell- do you think he liked it?! :) --Excuse the close up of my legs :(
It was a busy yet FUN weekend to meet family (we had never met Jenny's baby- Kelsi) and to see the rest of her family (we hadn't seen them since our wedding)! We're excited to see them all again in a few weeks for the Davis Family Reunion in Idaho!
Jordy has been growing up so much this last month-- I haven't done a very good job posting about all his "milestones"...so this is kind of a catch up of some of his newest accomplishments!
Some things about Jordy:
- Can roll over from his stomach to his back but is still working on doing it in reverse!
- Prefers sitting now more than being on his back and tummy
- Is a DROOL-MACHINE! (We're anxious for this "teething period" to actually start producing teeth rather than just slobber!)
- Loves trying to stuff his pacifier in his mouth, or his fist, or blanket, or pretty much whatever he can get his hands on!
-Actually, he seems fascinated with mouths in general. He loves watching people's mouths and has been trying to stick his hands in our mouths. (Maybe he'll be a dentist?!)
- Is on the verge of full-out laughing! He gets so excited and happy and will have the biggest grin on his face, but then, it's like the laugh gets stuck in his throat and can't quite make it out! We've heard little glimpses of his laugh, but we're excited when he just lets it out!
- Loves spitting and blowing bubbles and making noises
- Is eating lots! I couldn't keep up with what he needs to eat- so now we're buying "liquid gold" (as Rachel so fittingly refers to formula!) for some of his "meals". He's also just getting the hang of rice cereal at night and within the last few days has just scarfed it down!
- Sleeps in his own bed now!!! WAHOOO! (but we've had to make sure to clear EVERYTHING out of it and around it. He was managing to pull stuff in that I didn't think was within his reach...little stinker!)
- He has been sleeping almost 8.5-9 hours straight at night (with the occasional stirring trying to find his pacifier again...)
- Has the most lovable smile...even with all the accompanying drool :p
- Still has beautiful big blue eyes!
- Loves playing peek-a-boo...but does not like it if you leave the room (I've concluded he doesn't like me doing anything but playing with him and giving him my undivided attention 24/7)
- Loves when mom and dad make silly faces at him
- Manages to move around a lot (mostly by kicking himself or scrunching up into a ball and rolling around)
- Tries to help us eat (he gets very upset when he doesn't get what we're eating)
- Totally recognizes his bottle. If he's hungry he'll get so upset if he even just sees a bottle and he doesn't have it!
-Likes "standing up"
- Barely fitting into size 2 diapers and is mostly in 6 month clothes
"Who cares if the football is as big as me. EVERYTHING MUST BE EATEN!"

A favorite thing about being a mom: (I can't help it, there's 2 this time) Ü
1. I have an excuse to always be in comfy clothes! With the amount of drool and slobber Jordy produces, there is no point in trying to wear anything but T-shirts! (And even still, there have been days I rush to make it to class to sit down and look down and realize I have drool marks all over my shirt. Nice- real classy!) There have been times I'm walking around with Jordy and the back of my leg feels wet...and that's when I realize he has a stream of drool running down my back. But somehow, I'm able to treat my kid's drool like it's water...it doesn't make me want to wash my hands every time I touch it. (If that were the case, I'd just live in the bathroom!)
2. I can make a fool of myself and not care who's going to make fun of me...it makes Jordy happy! Being a mom has made it so I don't care what others think about me-- I can be in a store and Jordy starts crying and I totally start making silly faces and playing peek-a-boo with him, not caring how many others are around! I have an excuse to be a big big dork (which is so natural for me!) And what's even better- even Jordy can't be embarrassed by me yet! Ü
