Halloween!

Grandma and Grandpa Hyatt got to visit us this past week! We had lots of fun with them! They came to meet Ben's fiance, Carly, but Jordy was convinced they were here to see him! He sure loved all the attention they gave him and we were very appreciative of them being willing to watch Jordy for us during the week!

*Our ward did our Halloween party the week before, but I'll just include all of our Halloween pictures here...

Starting with us carving pumpkins!

Just like dad...he's not so sure that cold, slimy things are fun! :)

The finished pumpkins!
You can't see it in this picture very well, but we had a baby pumpkin that had a little face on it for Jordy!
Jordy's small pumpkin showing off his two bottom teeth!
Jordy is the boss of our house...so we centered our costumes around him! :)
When we went to our ward Halloween party people got that Jordy was dressed as the cookie monster and I was an Oreo, but somehow they couldn't see that Tyler had chocolate chip cookies taped to his shirt...one asked if he was ebola. Hmmm.
We were shooting for cookies and milk. Oh well! :)

Eating Dad's costume! Num-num-num :)

Poor Jordy was getting tired of wearing his hood...but I just kept putting it on him cuz he was TOO CUTE!

October 30th: Last day of the Stadium Farmer's Market...yeah...no one really was there but we got one last fresh mango salsa!

On Halloween we went up to BYU campus to see some of the costumes! Yup- in all my Halloween-years, never have I seen better costumes than those worn by college kids! Go figure! I didn't get any pictures...but there were some good ones...one we especially liked in honor of Uncle Lance-- was a bull and people dressed up as Spaniards doing the "running of the bulls" running through the Cougar Eat on campus...it was pretty hilarious! Several people asked if they could take a picture of Jordy (and we found out later that he was posted on instagram by one such admirer!)

However, I had to get a picture of him with a girl dressed as Elmo!

And then we went Trick-or-Treating on Halloween. We only went to a few houses...more to show off Jordy...he thought it was pretty fun (I think!) And we got trick-or-treaters at our place!!!

One of the first places we went had glow sticks...PERFECT for Jordy! He loved it, can you tell?!

Grandma Hyatt in her "Grandma Halloween costume!" So fun :)

Thanks Aunt Jessica for taking some fun pictures along the way!

Ben had an intramural soccer game later that night that we all went to. Jordy was pretty tired! (Both of wearing his costume and being shown-off! :)
It was a great First Halloween!

Idaho Weekend

We went up to Idaho Falls to see Tyler's friend's baby blessing and to see Tyler's nieces and nephew's primary program and to just visit! It also happened to be the "BIG" Idaho Falls  high school rivalry football game- so we went to that for 'ol time's sake! (Tyler thought it would be fun to have me watch the school where he played...but it ended up just making Tyler and I feel OLD!) It was gorgeous weather up there and it was also fun to get a little break from Provo.

Tyler's parents let their neighbors' horses use the big field on their property.
Some of the horses came right up to the fence when we walked up!

My camera on my phone was really struggling in the bright sunshine :(
Tyler was trying to get me to jump on the trampoline...but I just don't bounce or bend!
Jordy on the tramp with his cousin Grant
Jordy was in HEAVEN at Grandma and Grandpa Davis's house- new things to explore and LOTS of room to crawl!
Tyler on the other hand was in heaven playing football with his nephews!
Enjoying a little picnic lunch with his Southwick cousins!
At the "Emotion Bowl": IF HS vs Skyline HS (where Tyler went to school). Skyline won!

BYU Homecoming Weekend and Fall Fun

I don't really remember going to parades growing up-- not until my brothers were in the high school marching band! But this year- we had someone to wave to! Ben organized the parade with his campus job and then got to ride in a car in the parade (he was SOOO excited about that! Haha!) So we went to south campus to watch as the parade went by.

Who cares about a parade when there is a balloon to play with?!

I had heard that there were blue pancakes for homecoming, but in all my years at BYU I have never had one. But as we were waiting for the parade to come by the line for the FREE pancakes was right there, so, after all these years, I saw the blue pancakes (yes, just saw them, I didn't feel like eating something that was that blue- but Tyler had more "spirit" and tried them out! He had almost finished them before I could get a picture...so this was all that was left. Sorry that it's in his mouth...but see- they really are BLUE pancakes!)

These pictures are actually from the week before...
Tyler took a practice GMAT test on campus so Jordy and I went to a nearby park and played for a little until he was done!

And then later that night we went to a BYU girl's soccer game! We've had fun enjoying the nice fall weather!

We've somehow stayed pretty busy with studying and running errands, etc. on the weekends that we didn't go on any real hikes to enjoy the fall colors in the mountains. But one Sunday evening we decided to take a little drive up Provo Canyon to Squaw Peak to at least see some fall colors and catch the sunset. It was fun to have a little "break" -- and we weren't disappointed at all with the scenery! I'm just sad we didn't have more time to spend in the mountains this fall.

How cool- you can see 2 temples so clearly from Squaw Peak! (Soon to be 3!)

Provo Temple
Mt. Timpanogos Temple

The view was amazing. These pictures (especially with my dinky little camera) just don't do it justice!

Some pictures from earlier that day of Jordy enjoying the fall sunshine! (9.5 months old!)

He really is our SUNSHINE!
