On the Monday before Christmas we decorated Rice-Krispy Houses- because let's be honest, I just didn't have the motivation in me to make the gingerbread for actual gingerbread houses. I had just met with my thesis advisor earlier that day and was a little discouraged and there still wasn't any snow with Christmas just 3 days away...so we had to improvise for a quick "get-in-the-holiday-spirit" activity! We just used canned frosting and the candy we had lying around- but it actually was kind of fun! It definitely wasn't going to pass any safety codes though :)

Tyler luckily didn't have to work on Christmas Eve, so we packed and drove up to Idaho Falls. Tyler's sister, Cindy and her husband, Mike were also there for Christmas. We had Christmas dinner with Tyler's sister, Kristi and her family that night. We read through the Christmas story with them and then the kids played for a little.

After they left, Jordy opened up his stocking from Grandma Hyatt- it was AMAZING!
On Christmas morning Jordy looked in his stocking- but then he was getting too hungry so he ate while we talked to Elder Lance Hyatt from Spain! It was fun to get to video-chat with him and then we briefly chatted with the rest of my family as we ate our pumpkin bread and hot chocolate.

AND- when we looked outside, we saw IT HAD SNOWED! There were several inches actually! SO- we bundled Jordy up to let him sit in the snow for the first time...

FINALLY, after we warmed up again and Jordy took a nap, we opened presents!

| Jordy got a toy smart phone from Grandma and Grandpa Davis, while Santa brought Jordy an old dial telephone. Haha! |

| Yup, those are pickles! Randy gave each family pickles and the story of hiding a pickle on Christmas morning. It was really thoughtful of him...good thing we like pickles! :) |
Tyler and I gave each other...AN ALTERNATOR for our car! :) The last 3 years have included 3 separate cars dying. SO- we're hoping to end our streak for this next year!
We are just so grateful for our loving families and hope they know how much we love each of them!
