Last First Day of Classes!

Yeah baby! That's right! The end is in sight (ish!) I started spring term the last week of April and just have 2 classes (the only downside is they are each twice a week for 2.5 hours each...ick!) But- if we all can endure for 8 weeks, all that is left is an internship and, ugh, that annoying little thing: THE thesis.

Kaisa has agreed to keep coming to watch Jordy while I'm at class, and hopefully Uncle Ben will be up for a few "play-dates" as well! :) We are so thankful for all the help we get, and Jordy is happy to get so much special attention! :)

Jordy got really comfortable with Uncle Ben one day! :)

Kaisa sent this picture to me while I was at class...she said Jordy was enjoying his Mac & Cheese when he sneezed. hahaha! :)
He certainly hasn't slowed down much with his "peg-leg!"
Watching Dad's work softball game!
Ready for a snack! Except notice in the video how he's a little picky...

Jordy took it upon himself to help clean the kitchen with his washcloth!

Recently Jordy has been interested in scribbling/"coloring"-- it's kind of cute. I'm just worried he's going to get excited to color on more than his designated papers... :)

We went to Culver's with Jess, Carly, and Bradley. Jordy had a great dinner of fries and custard with blueberries :)

He enjoyed giving fist bumps with Aunt Carly! He also learned how to blow the papers off the straws right into my face! Thanks Carly for the great things you're teaching him! :)

This is a little random, but it's been bothering me...

Just before Ben's wedding, I wanted to get my hair highlighted. I had spent hours before at the hair schools, so I thought I'd try out more "experienced" stylists but still didn't want to spend a lot. I went to Fantastic Sam's. BIG MISTAKE. The girl was supposed to do a partial highlight, however, she spent almost 3 hours putting so much foil in my hair, I probably could have picked up signals from the International Space Station! She had bleached my hair :( So I went back the next day to have her put brown in my hair and tone down the highlight. However, another 4 hours later and it still wasn't what I wanted but I had to get back to Jordy (Ben had kindly agreed to watch Jordy but he  needed to get back to work). After all this (spending more time and money than if I had gone to a hair school), I guess I learned my lesson -- I am beyond hope for trying to improve my appearance anymore! :)

Here is what I've also learned- sure signs to know you have a bad hair color when:
- your husband is doing everything he can to not laugh when you are visablly upset about your hair color. When asked how he isn't laughing, he says "I didn't know I was allowed to!" (knowing he wanted to laugh!)
- multiple people ask "did you dye your hair" knowing very well I did but not wanting to ask "did you mean to have your hair that color?"
- your hair looks orange in wedding photos
- just the other day someone asked "did you dye your hair? *I respond "yes." They ask "do you like it?" Seriously?! Who asks if you like your hair color if they don't think it looks funny? (it was like she was really asking "what happened to your hair?!" or "that's an interesting color") Thanks for the subtlety! :)

Oh well...a "fun story" for the grandkids, right?!

One final note...

The background story of this picture will hopefully be clear after watching the video link, but just  know that no matter how silly I look, I LOVE BEING JORDY'S MOM! Thank you to my mom, Tyler's mom, my grandmothers, my sisters and dear friends that have shown me through their examples, their advice, love and support, and through their faith and testimonies the kind of person that I hope to become. Thank you! And Happy Mother's Day to the Mom who started this all... I love you!

**UPDATE: I wouldn't be celebrating Mother's Day myself if it weren't for my amazing husband, Tyler! He spoiled me SO much today: getting up early with Jordy and changing his diaper, making me strawberry/raspberry-filled crepes and eggs (he sent me back to bed to eat them!), then HE made me a steak dinner and took Jordy on a little walk so I could take a quick nap, AND THEN he made me s'mores brownies with ice-cream. Uh yeah- be jealous! He also picked out a "chick-flick" for our next movie night (AKA: the next night I want to procrastinate my thesis a little more!) and a little chocolate treat just for me. AND on top of ALL that-- he is such an awesome dad and husband himself. SO- I felt guilty if I didn't give Mr. Tyler P. Davis the credit he deserves...this day wouldn't be the same without him and his love and support. (He really outdid himself! I don't know what he has in mind for Father's Day... : )

Jordy wanted to come help me enjoy my breakfast!

Best Mother's Day present ever! This little squirt's smile!! :)

Jordy's Cast

Uncle Tyler put a cast on Jordy's leg on Saturday night after the wedding at the hotel. (He wanted to use Viking's colors, and we wanted Green and Gold- so Jordy got blue! :)

Thanks, Dr. Dahl!
Another Culver's just opened up in Utah County! (800 N in OREM...5 minutes from our place!)
SO- as is our new custom (after Jordy has to see a doctor), we took Jordy a few days after-the-fact, to get some yummy custard (and butterburgers and fries!)

I've been amazed at how quickly Jordy has adapted to his cast...he gets around better than with his splint because he can pull himself up and "pirate walk" around. Impressive!! It's just heavier to carry him and it scratches us when he crawls up on us...but it's worth it if he can be more mobile! :)

He's even managed to get into things again! He not only shakes the spices now, he knows how to twist off some of the caps. How did I discover this?- you might ask- well, when I went to get the camera, I turned back around to see dill weed all over the floor. Oops! (Perhaps the next question is why on earth I have dill weed...!)

He's even adorable while sleeping!!!

Unfortunately, when I called the orthopedic office to let them know his follow-up appointment would involve removing a cast now, they moved back the appointment so he is going to be in the cast for almost 3 weeks. (I don't think they understood what I was saying to them, oh well...) BUT- May 14th- is THE DAY we're anxiously looking forward to!!! :)

Thanks Jordy, for still being such a cutie and not completely hating me (yet!)

There's something very comforting to Jordy about having 2 pacifiers to carry around/hold. I used to say it was silly, because he could only use 1 at a time, but, he proved me wrong! :)

Ben's Wedding Week!

To say this was a crazy week is an understatement! It went by so fast and unfortunately, there just wasn't a lot of time for visiting -- and I felt so bad that Jordy was going to get to play with more of "his age-range"-cousins...and then he couldn't walk/run around with them :( However, he still had a great time when we were able to see them!

We went hiking Y Mountain early Wednesday morning. Luckily Uncle Ben came and was willing to carry Jordy!! The kids were troopers- Cade and Lydia kept running up and down and we'd tell them they were making more work because they had to cover the same ground twice- but they didn't seem to care! Marshall (only 23 months old) walked almost the whole way up himself as well!

No matter how many times I've hiked to the Y, it still is so cool...there are mountains literally yards away that we can hike!! Can the mountains move to WI with us?!
Jordy had a pretty sweet deal...he got carried AND got to eat his breakfast along the way! (Ben got showered with some cereal as well!)
Thanks again, Ben! (Trying to look good during his last days as a single man!! :)

They made it!!! :) Marshall looks like he's thinking about pushing Jordy! :)

Enjoying BYU Creamery IceCream after! Thanks Aunt Rachel!

Then Mom and Rachel disappeared in the kitchen for the next 2 days. I was only entrusted with 1 brownie recipe to make (haha--I guess Tyler has been telling stories about my cooking?!) But we got to play with Cade, Lydia, and Marshall a bit! They even taught him how to fist-bump! :)

Lydia and Aunt Jessica put together her Frozen puzzle!
Marshall thought the game was called "BREAK the ice"...he was really good at that version! We couldn't put it back together fast enough!

We played a game called "headbanz" (ask questions to guess the object you're wearing) It was pretty fun...Cade was really good at asking questions...a little too good! :)
This little squirt just loves his Grandma! Every time he saw her he would reach out his arms and want HER to hold him! I'm sure he wished she was there just to see him!

Long days of playing and running around make for tired boys!
My cute little shirt twin!! :)

A broken leg won't stop Jordy from dancing! :)

We were able to go to the Payson Temple Open House on Friday morning. It is a beautiful temple and even though it wasn't dedicated yet, there was such a special spirit that could be felt walking in the temple.

Jordy and Marshall by a fountain in the back of the temple
Trying to take a picture of all the kids is always an adventure... :)

Because Jordy still didn't have his cast on, he got to swim in the hotel pool the night before the BIG DAY! Unfortunately, it was a little late and he was pretty tired, and it was COLD, so he didn't last long...but he still had fun...especially when he got to sit in the warmer hot tub (not really hot--more like what temperature the pool should have been!)

I don't know who was more excited to see a King size bed in the hotel room...us or Jordy?! The last few nights he hasn't been sleeping well, and then he comes in our bed and clobbers us with his splint. Well- this bed should be big enough for all...
...or so we thought! :) At least he got some sleep!
Ben's Wedding Day!
Even though the weather forecast for almost 2 weeks was saying rain for Ben's wedding-- he had more faith than I did and it ended up being partly sunny! Congratulations to Ben and Carly!!

Taking some silly pictures while waiting...
Oops! Somehow I missed that this was supposed to be a nice picture...my bad... :)

Hahaha! I'd say they're ready for kids! :)
 "Look here, no here..."
Too sunny for some...
...and then Jordy wasn't having this angle. Oh well! That's how taking pictures at weddings with kids goes!

Aww man. We forgot Lance's cardboard cutout!! :)

Pictures tired one poor guy out a lot! :)
"Ladies, the tie is off!"

"Where is your shirt little man?!"
"Kid Table": Which is why it is so fitting Tyler wound up there!

He wanted some of the good stuff!
Ahhh! So happy after he got some brownies! :)
