Hike to the Y

It was a BEAUTIFUL day on Saturday- so we decided to go for a hike!
Jordy got all nice and comfortable riding with Dad...

It was so sunny- but just the perfect temperature- but I was still paranoid that Jordy would get burned- but he stayed pretty covered! (We on the other hand ended up getting a little burned)

He didn't seem to mind! :)

I'm not going to lie...it was a challenge making it up there! (Considering it's been almost a year since I had done virtually any form of physical activity...)

But we made it (a nice 45 minutes later! Ü)

Jordy: King of Provo!

Tyler wanted to be sure to get one with the football stadium in the background! :)

And then we made it back down again.
Boy, was he a tired guy! And look at Jordy! :) Such hard word going up and down that mountain!

But his day wasn't over yet! We then went to the BYU Men's soccer game!

It was a GREAT day to be outside!

4 Months!

Look who's 4 months old!

WHO, ME?!

OK...It's ME!

We go for Jordy's 4-month check-up next week- so I'll update this when we have his percentiles, but some things about Jordy now:

- He LOVES his fists and thinks it's a game when we try to keep them out of his mouth...he's pretty sneaky finding a way to get them back in!
- His sleep schedule is very variable. One night he'll sleep for almost 8 hours then the next he's waking up every 2...
- He still definitely prefers being on his stomach over his back.
- He rolled over once...but most of the time he just scrunches up his legs but doesn't quite get enough momentum to roll over!
- Smiles all the time. Grandma Hyatt described him as smiling with his whole body! When he is happy- he is VERY happy!
- "Talks" a lot! He's still exploring his vocal range- lots of high squeals but he's also doing lower coos!
- Follows objects and watches people (when he's interested!)
- On the verge of laughing...he's let out a few sounds that are so close to a laugh...but they're still more like squeals of delight!
- Has quite the death grip on some of his toys! (Especially in his car seat- it's fun to watch him play with the toys hanging above him)
- Loves blowing bubbles
- Still quite the kicker
- LOVES the colorful fish bubble lamp (it's sometimes the only thing that calms him down when he gets worked up)
- Doesn't like being put down at all or being out of sight of people
- Was trying to set a record for going the longest without having a messy diaper....he made it up to 10 days before we said that was long enough... :(
- Loves being entertained! (He does really well if you have the energy to move from activity to activity with him. Just don't expect to get ANYTHING else of YOURS done!)

Some more Jordy smiles!

Trying to eat both fists...can't quite get them both to fit!

Death-grip on his toy!

Chillin' in his "leisure" suit! :)

This outfit was from Jordy's Aunt Kristi...the old-time football helmet-hat was too cute! (Though, he also looks like a pilot)

My favorite thing about being a mom:
I love making Jordy smile! He has had his ups and downs- having a hard time waking up early or going to sleep...but like was mentioned before- when he is happy, he can be SO SO HAPPY! He smiles so big and literally squirms with delight! It is fun to see him showing more of a personality and interacting with people. Even when I'm a little stressed with school stuff, he can make me forget about all that when he smiles! I love my happy little boy...now just to figure out how to keep him happy all the time! :)

Easter Week

We went up to Idaho Easter weekend to see Aunt Cindy play volleyball one more time with her Western Wyoming team. It was Jordy's longest drive...(almost 4 hours) but he was actually pretty good.
*We got some ice in a cup at McDonald's and he was quite entertained by the cup for awhile which helped kill some driving time!

**I need to do a better job about taking pictures with Jordy's aunts and uncles and cousins! BUT- in my defense, it was a quick trip and we left early Sunday to come back to Provo after eating a delicious Easter breakfast with Grandma and Grandpa Davis (waffles with strawberries and ice-cream!)

OH- and we "celebrated" our 2-year anniversary that weekend! (That went by fast!) Ü

When we got back to Provo, Grandma and Grandpa Hyatt were already here from WI to spend graduation week with us! He had a busy weekend being the center of attention with so many family members around!

Jordy's first Easter! (I know- what a fancy "Easter outfit"...he never goes pants-less, however, he was getting uncomfortable in the car on our way back from Idaho and taking off his zip-up outfit seemed to make him happier...so- no judging!)

Thanks Grandma Hyatt for the Easter basket!

We had Easter dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Hyatt and the Provo gang and then we decorated eggs (however, no one wanted to do my egg hunt. Their loss... More eggs for Jordy next year!)

Our exciting Easter celebrations! (No- this was not staged. This actually happened)

These are just random pictures from the week Grandma and Grandpa Hyatt were visiting:

Jordy LOVED snuggling with Grandma! He was dead asleep in these pictures...and very content!

Silly Faces!

Eating Mom!

*Pay no attention to how gross I look...but this shows how Jordy puts everything in his mouth...it didn't matter to him that he was eating my cheek! Usually he's fighting us to get his fist in his mouth...

We went to Carly's graduation picnic (in the rain) and then went to a Hyatt gathering. Oh yeah, and my Uncle Brady came to visit as well. It was a busy day!

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Hyatt for coming to visit! We can't wait to see you again soon!

What do you think?! Does Jordy have any Hyatt resemblances?!?!

We made it!

Well, it wasn't "pretty" but we made it through the semester! (Shouldn't there be a "graduation ceremony" for that alone?!)

We couldn't have done it without the amazing help we had. I hesitate to list names because I don't want to forget anyone- and we had a lot of support from those not here in Provo-- so THANK YOU to everyone that made it possible to finish this semester. Jordy enjoyed spending so much time with Uncle Ben and his work friends, as well as Holly and Adriel, and Aunt Carly and Uncle Bradley! Jordy has already been around more of campus than some BYU students! And he was there to hear Carly defend her thesis and graduate with her Masters degree: WAY TO GO CARLY!

I had to include the classic "Carly-with-the-irritated-baby" picture...not quite as good as the one with Cade!
Congrats graduates! :)

Jordy was sporting his own BYU attire at graduation...though he wasn't the most cooperative posing for pictures!

So excited...little does he know spring term is starting in just a few days... duh duh dun.

Too COOL for school

So- I just spent the whole day working on school stuff. (Literally. I even stayed in my pajamas- that's what I mean by THE WHOLE DAY). And what's even more depressing than that...I'm nowhere near being done with my stuff. I guess that's what I get for putting off a semester's worth of work until the last few days...
But this little guy hasn't made it easy...he keeps reminding me of the fact that I would rather be playing with him than reading or grading or writing a paper...
And I can't really argue with him!

So then I tried multi-tasking. Maybe he could help me with my work...

Look at how interested in my aphasia speech book he was...

(Then he got really "into" it...literally Ü)

"Really, mom? Really? You have to read this stuff?"

YIKES!

BORING!!!

So- he decided he was TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL!

And here I am- only 4 days away from my term paper deadline with no paper-- but one really cute distraction on my hands :) It could be worse...
